Moments before a friendly biteThis year we are teaming up with Dubuque Community School District for a special Farm to School Crawl, showcasing the teachers helping the next generation understand the role of agriculture in supporting health, natural resources, and rural economies through school gardens, school lunch, and classroom activities. Stop by the Alternative Learning Center during the Farm Crawl Saturday, Sept 10 to learn more about resources to expand Farm to School in your classroom!

This year’s sites include:

• Alternative Learning Center School Garden (Dubuque, IA)

Dubuque Rescue Mission Community Farm (Dubuque, IA)

• Tree of Life Farm at Sinsinawa Mound Farm Incubator (Sinsinawa, WI)

• Kristi’s Perfect Produce (Cuba City, WI)

Two Onion Farm (Belmont, WI)

• Honey Hill Organic Farm & Apiary (Potosi, WI)

Organized by a coalition of community organizations including the Iowa State University – Dubuque County Extension Office, Four Mounds Foundation, Sustainable Dubuque and a host of community food advocates, The Farm Crawl is a fun and participatory way for area families to explore and support the ideas, practices, and people cultivating our community’s food economy and culture.
